Instagram Badges

The main idea behind this personal project was to develop a bunch of gamification badges that users could unlock on Instagram. Based on some research involving the current trend and most clichéd Instagram images I designed a set of badges that could be offered to users if the app involved a layer of gamification.

Project Research

METHODS

For this project I started by reading articles that listed and described the most common photographs on Instagram. After scanning through not less than 20-25 articles I shortlisted a bunch of 20 types of photographs Instagram users uploaded. I used a bunch of techniques like User Interviews Competitor analysis User Personas Apart from that a competitor analysis for sites that offered gamification and sites that offered services like Instagram. I also drew up very low-level personas of users that could potentially unlock various badges. This helped in refining the design for the badge in terms of what element and colors were best suited.
